Judy’s practice is devoted exclusively to family law. She is compassionate and she understands her clients’ needs and the challenges they face following a separation. She applies a common sense approach and practical solutions while assisting clients to resolve their family law issues.
Judy obtained her law degree from the University of Western Ontario (LL.B) and she was called to the Ontario bar in 2004. Judy previously obtained an Honours degree in Social Sciences (Criminology) at the University of Ottawa and a Social Service Worker diploma from Loyalist College.
Judy represents clients in all areas of family law including matters of parenting (custody, access and mobility issues), child and spousal support, and property (including equalization of net family properties, property issues for common-law spouses, trust claims and complex issues involving businesses). She has extensive experience appearing in court for conferences, examinations, motions and for trial and she also provides representation to clients for mediations, settlement meetings and arbitrations. Judy negotiates and prepares separation agreements, cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts on behalf of her clients.
Before becoming a partner at Victor Vallance Blais LLP, Judy worked within a family law group at an international law firm. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association.
